Welcome to the Hidradenitis Suppurativa Course!

I am your instructor, Cristina Curp. I’m a certified Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, HS warrior, best-selling cookbook author, and founder of the popular recipe and wellness site, The Castaway Kitchen. 

Note: Every module has a video and text. The video is optional but the text portion is not. Ideally you do both to get the maximum amount of information.



My Story

After living with Hidradenitis Suppurativa for 18 years I decided that enough was enough. 7 years ago I took to the kitchen to find a way of eating that would help me feel better. After a long tedious process, I saw significant improvement and long bouts of remission. Then I wanted to understand why diet changes were helping and I got certified as an NTP. With further tweaking of my diet and with my newfound knowledge, I found lasting remission. 

For the last few years, I have worked with hundreds of people via my online practice, my online community, and a Functional Medicine Practice to help them regain control of their health. Now I am taking all of my experience with Hidradenitis Suppurativa, not just from my own, but from all the people I have worked with, to create this course. 

I can’t promise remission, but I can tell you that your overall wellbeing will improve and I’m certain that you will feel a renewed sense of control and hope surrounding HS when we’re done. 


What to Expect


First, you will understand Hidradenitis Suppurativa, the disease pathology. Then the connection between the disease and gut health and diet. Once you understand the why, we will dive into the how. There will be different levels to the diet changes and supplement support so that you can escalate at your own pace and only if you have to. Lastly, we will discuss lifestyle factors.


What’s the time commitment?

I ask that you give what you learn here 4-6 months to play out. The initial time commitment is 3-4 hours to go through all of the content. If you opted into the 1-hour 1:1 consult you will need to factor in 90 minutes total for the paperwork and the call.

The changes that you will be making as you go through this course will also take time. Prepare to spend a little more time in the kitchen. You will have to prep meals, go to bed early, take time to rest. Nothing changes if nothing changes. If you're here you're ready for change. You want to feel better and this is what it takes.

Remember: There are no quick fixes. There are no overnight successes. This takes time, dedication, patience, and lots of grace. Trust the process. 




Note: Each module of this course will have a short video and a written portion which will include resources. In the videos, I refer to the written portion as PDFs, but not everything will be a PDF. The modules will be delivered within the platform. 


Note: If you currently consume tobacco products, like cigarettes or chewing tobacco I can not guarantee the benefit of this program. Smoking is highly inflammatory and toxic to your body and linked to HS symptoms in various studies. If you are not willing to stop consuming alcohol for at least 30 days, I can not guarantee the benefit of this program. If you feel that you can not go 30 days without alcohol I suggest you seek support.
